Acrostix - (A Chain Of) Hatred MLP 2006

Mini LP released on Whisper In Darkness Records in the states last year but yet again a hard release to find. Go figure. Acrostix seem to get labeled an Amebix clone band but these guys are more a nod to some of the tradition Japanese bands like Systematic Death, Poison or even Gastunk. Sure there is a definite U.K. influence here but not as prominent as say a band like Zoe. This is a quality release and I'm sure you will like it.

01 - Rise From The Ashes
02 - S.M.O.G.
03 - The Day Comes
04 - Hazy World
05 - Last Hope
06 - (A Chain Of) Hatred

Whisper In Darkness.

their earlier work was very much Amebix sounding. theyve progressively started to identify their own sound mixing in uk crust/punk and japanese styles. but still the reason they get labelled an ambebix clone is that they used to be an extremely good amebix sounding band check out their demos, the split with contrast attitude for a few of their amebix sounding efforts. they are outstanding.

their split lp w/ contrast attitude is even better than amebix haha...

have yet to hear this one but that split with contrast attitude had more of a ZYGOTE feel to it than anything else. i remember the first song sounding almost identical to the first track of a 'a wind of knives'
