Yes, great double-pick of the Week, both TG & firehose. Never had any doubts with them, attraction at the very first listening many moons ago. Actually, this firehouse album belongs to my formative teenage experience. "Ragin', full-on" LP is closest to punk-rock roots of all firehose albums. Yeah, Ed from Ohio brought in a bit of new wave licks with him. Love it, don't leave it!

By the way, thanks for the Severed Head of State posts. These days I've been listening to HHIG "Fool's Gold" & "The Plot Sickens". And some Tragedy. I like 'em very much.

I've been curious about SHoS offshoot/cousin. Now is the time!

The whole 60's feel of the fIREHOSE Lp was weird but the more I listen the more I appreciate their uniqueness..

SHOS, one band who I did their ep's more than their Lp's... albeit "Anathema Device" is a very strong record.. "it's me who hemmers the nails.." and yeah there is definate heritage with this band from J Church to HIHG and of course World Burns to Death and the millions of bands the Kelly has played in... I did play a show here in NZ with Severed and they were awesome. Great times and great tunes.. salute

Severed Head Of State s/t seven inch is indeed fantastic!

Firestorm of sound. And we're in the midst of heatwave over here. Summertime peak's been brutal.

But Throbbing Gristle!? They were full of great "jazzfunk" pophits, and it's quite nice to spot them among UK '82 streetpunks, US hardcorebrats, Japanese punkdropouts and German speedmetalheads etc. This album is an excellent overview of their pioneering work as well as a great introduction for newcomers and ignorants. Spunk!!

Keep on rippin'!
